In this unit we look at why asbestos is dangerous, asbestos related diseases, Asbestosis, Pleural Thickening, Lung cancer, the nature of asbestos fibres and asbestos friability.
In this unit we look at who has a duty to manage asbestos, the responsibilities of the ‘Duty Holder’, the requirement to identify the presence of asbestos and the employer’s requirements.
In this unit we look at how to manage asbestos on your premises, how to prevent workers becoming unintentionally exposed to asbestos and what to do if you accidentally discover or disturb any material you believe may contain asbestos.
Why should I study asbestos awareness?
Asbestos is an extremely hazardous substance that can be present in any building or structure that was built or refurbished up to the year 2000. Therefore, all workers who may come in to contact with asbestos or asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) must be trained so that they can stay safe. This Asbestos Awareness online training course raises awareness of the dangers from asbestos and the practical steps that can be taken to reduce the risk of exposure.
